Update:

Closing her took slightly longer than expected but she is finally in recovery. We should be allowed back soon to see her. Everything looks really good. Both her surgeons are very happy with the results.

I wish I could say “the hard part is over” but the next 48hrs are critical for her. Her body will need to maintain it’s own functions without assistance. She’ll need to come off her breathing tube, pace wires, come off sedation and function on her own.

Those are the first steps. She has an extremely long road to recovery including seeing how this affected her Chorea.

We are beyond grateful to her medical teams for today. Today is a WIN. Today we won the battle. Now we prepare for the war to come.

I’m not worried, this little Warrior is Katja Strong, she’s got this 💪🏻

A special thank you to our Angel John for sending her some pick me up ice cream yesterday. It’s just what she needed to get through today. 🩵
