To say “this kid is a RockStar” would be an understatement.
I am in awe of her. She is a warrior. When she decides something, nothing will stop her. Absolutely nothing.
She has been breaking through sedation since a few hours out of surgery. Giving us all her fiesty sass and her famous raised eyebrows. She was removed from her pace machine before ever coming up to the CICU. All she needed was a little Epi to keep her rhythm normal. They have been reducing meds all night. She is moving faster than all previous surgeries.
She was wide awake at 4am and extubated (breathing tube removed) at 5:30am. She immediately started talking. Asking if surgery was over, if her chest was closed and if the Dr fixed everything.
She’s thirsty and wanting water (she’ll need to wait a little for that) but otherwise no complaints. She has asked for a wheelchair and to go “home” 😆 but we’ve reminded her she still has lots of wires. To which she opened her eyes, looked around and says “Where are my clothes!” 😆 I jokingly said that Dad was wearing them and she said “of course” 🤣
Our Sassy little stinker is awake and well. She’s sore but she’s doing absolutely amazing. ❤️
