We received some great news today! Katja’s cultures for endocarditis came back Negative for all 5 days! That means no heart infection. So it looks like her exhaustion, fevers and vomiting is a combination of her being in heart failure and having a cold.

We’ve been going stir crazy the last week waiting on these results. Had they been positive we would have had to immediately admit her to the hospital for 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. It’s been an anxiety inducing 2 weeks but I’m happy we can close this door and focus on her upcoming surgery in June.
